Hornaday Countertops has its roots in a business built on hard work, practical skills, and personal relationships. Starting in the 1960s as Carpet, Vinyl, and Countertops, Mr. Hornaday established a company serving the Columbia area while preparing the next generation to carry it forward.
His three sons—Edwin, David, and Eddie—learned the business from their father. Along with the skills of the trade, he taught them the importance of reliable service, careful workmanship, and earning a customer’s trust.
More than 60 years later, those values remain at the heart of Hornaday Countertops.
Building on a Father’s Vision
As Mr. Hornaday prepared for retirement in the late 1990s, he encouraged his sons to expand into granite and quartz countertop installation. By the early 2000s, the business had officially passed to the next generation.
That transition helped shape Hornaday Countertops into the company it is today. Building on its experience with laminate countertops, the business continued serving local homeowners with additional material choices for their kitchens and bathrooms.
The products evolved, but the commitment behind the Hornaday name remained the same: do quality work and treat people well.
Eddie Hornaday Continues the Family Legacy
Following the passing of his father and his brother David, Eddie Hornaday became the sole owner of Hornaday Countertops. Today, he carries on the business with the lessons he learned from his father and a personal dedication to his craft.
For Eddie, the family name represents a responsibility to each customer. Dependability, attention to detail, and respect for your home are part of continuing the standards on which the company was built.
